A composition comprises 15-85% by weight of a petroleum hydrocarbon wax and 85-15% by weight of a mixture of a polyalkylene homopolymer and a copolymer of ethylene and either a C3-C20 alpha alkene or styrene or an alkyl styrene wherein the ethylene content constitutes 80-95 mol. per cent of the copolymer, the weight ratio of the homopolymer to the copolymer being between 2:1 and 1:5.
