PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for a tenon pipe, which can prevent infiltration of rainwater into the tenon pipe from an upper opening end of the same, even if there is a time interval between the time the tenon pipe is fixed into a horizontal member to the time a column is erected on the horizontal member. SOLUTION: The cap for the tenon pipe is for use on the tenon pipe 1 stored in the horizontal member 2 and the column 3 to be erected on the same. The cap consists of a shaft 10 fitted into an upper portion of the tenon pipe, and an enlarged-diameter head 11 extended upward from the shaft, and the head blocks the upper opening end 9 of the tenon pipe. The shaft 10 extends downward to a location below a column stopping upper bolt-hole 4, and the shaft has another bolt-hole 12 formed therein, conforming to the upper bolt-hole formed in the tenon pipe.
