摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply and sterilization apparatus with high sterilization performance by enhancing hitting probability of irradiating light on a silver supported photocatalytic fiber in a fresh water sterilization apparatus utilizing the silver supported photocatalytic fiber. SOLUTION: In this water supply and sterilization apparatus, a cylindrical filter wherein the silver supported photocatalytic fiber 2 is packed inside a transparent cylinder 1 made of resin or glass in high density is formed. The cylinder is irradiated with light having a wavelength of not more than visible light from surroundings, thereby allowing light to easily reach the entire silver supported photocatalytic fiber 2. In addition, the number and length of the cylindrical filter is adjusted according to the content of an organic matter such as dust, thereby assuring a sterilization rate of harmful microbes per fresh water passage amount. Moreover, a thread comprising the silver supported photocatalytic fiber is wound on a cylindrical cartridge filter core in plurality to form a cartridge filter. The staying time of the harmful microbes in the cartridge filter is prolonged, thereby making the microbes to easily meet hydroxy radical generated by the irradiation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
