PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifuge in which the partial defect of vibration detection is corrected and a rotor is thereby stopped before causing a fault. SOLUTION: This centrifuge 1 is provided with: a frame 6 as a skeleton; a damper 5 which is connected onto and supported by the frame 6 and damps vibration; a driver 2 which is connected to and supported by the damper 5; a swing rotor 8 which is rotated by the driver 2; an acceleration sensor 4 as a detector which detects that a part of the driver 2 is brought into contact with a part of the frame 6 when the amplitude of vibration of the driver 2 becomes a predetermined value or more; and a controller 18 which controls the driver with the output of a detector. Wherein, the driver 2 is arranged so that a part of the driver 2 is brought into contact with a part of the frame 6 when the amplitude of vibration of the driver 2 becomes a predetermined value or more, the shock generated when the driver 2 and the frame 6 are brought into contact with each other is detected by the acceleration sensor 4 and the driver 2 is stopped when the detected output result is an unbalance detection threshold value or more.
