PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid member feeder for a container while a positioning pin of a lid is omitted from a retainer to support and carry the container. SOLUTION: The lid member feeder comprises a lifting element 2 to lift a container P supported by a retainer 1 at a predetermined position from a lower side when a conveyor traveling body is stopped, a retaining element 3 to retain the lifted container in a releasable manner, a lid member delivering device 7 to deliver a lid member PC to an opening part of the container P from an upper side of the retained container, and a temporary seal device 6 to temporarily seal the lid member to the opening part of the container. The retaining element 3 has regulating members 5A and 5B to regulate the position of the lid member PC to be fed to the opening part of the container P by a circumferential edge of the lid member. After the lid member PC positioned by the regulating members 5A and 5B is temporarily sealed, the lifting element 2 is lowered, and the container P is returned to the retainer 1, and supported by a supporting hole 1A.
