The shape of the coupling plate (2) affects the adjustable temperature profile in such a way that the isotherms (7) extend in the tube wall area in a parallel manner in relation to the tube wall and extend in a perpendicular manner in relation to the path length of the sound waves in the measuring head area, thereby minimizing resulting errors in throughflow measurement.
