A hydrocyclone removes abrasive impurities from a suspension of recycled paper fiber. The separation cone is fabricated of wear-resistant ceramics and consists of separable lower (3) and upper (4) sections. The ceramic upper section (4) is linked to the remaining assembly by flanges, and to the lower ceramic pipe section by a sleeve (7).
