<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wood golf club which improves the directional control of golf shots. <P>SOLUTION: The face of a metal wood golf club head has a vertical center line near the core, a horizontal center line near the core of the face, the alignment line of the side of a toe which is in parallel with the vertical center line and is arranged at the approximate center point of the toe domain of a shell and the vertical center line, and the alignment line of the side of a heel which is in parallel with the vertical center line and is arranged at the approximate center point of the heel domain of a shell and the vertical center line. The face is arranged between the alignment line of the side of a toe and the alignment line of the side of a heel, and has a center section with a first bulge radius and a peripheral part adjacent to the center section.
