PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify the caller of a telephone call easily before disconnecting the telephone line in a telephone apparatus. SOLUTION: In the telephone apparatus, a calling signal sent from an exchange through a telephone line is detected, and when the prescribed number of the calling signals is detected, a calling side telephone number, a caller name sent together with the calling signal from the exchange through the telephone line are once stored in a RAM, the calling side telephone number and the caller name are read out of the RAM and then repeatedly displayed sequentially on a display.
