PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair which has the feature of the previous application that the large rotation of a wheel is obtained by one movement of a driving lever and can be advanced by the operation as easy as possible of pulling up the driving lever from the front to the back like the operation of rowing a boat. SOLUTION: A lever-driven wheelchair is constituted of the driving lever 5 turned around the hub spindle 6 of the wheel 2, for which a front lowered position is a reference position, a torque gear 7 rotated around the hub spindle 6 and two guide gears fixed at positions separated from the hub spindle. The terminating end part of a chain 13 whose starting end part is supported by a part of the driving lever 5 is wound around a first guide gear 9, the torque gear 7 and a second guide gear 10 and supported by a supporting arm 11 projected to an upper back part from the driving lever 5 through a tension spring 12. When the driving lever 5 is pulled to the front, the torque gear 7 is turned. The turning of the torque gear 7 is transmitted to the hub 14 of the wheel 2 through a one-way clutch as the rotation in an advancing direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
