PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanging rope length adjusting structure which can hang an article to be suspended under a stable state, and at the same time, can easily adjust the length of the hanging rope, and in addition, can place the article to be suspended under an easily portable state after the length adjustment. SOLUTION: This length adjusting structure for the hanging rope 11 is constituted in such a manner that a belt 12 is attached to an attaching section 21 which is formed on both side sections of the article 20 to be suspended and to which the belt 12 can be attached. The attaching section 21 is formed in such a manner that the belt 12 can be passed through. Both sides of the belt 12 are folded back after being passing through the attaching sections 21, and the belt 12 is moved to an arbitrary position in the length direction, and stopped by positionable stoppers 13 and 13. At the same time, a holding member 16 to which the belt 12 is attached movably in the length direction is provided between the stoppers 13 and 13. Then, on the holding member 16, a housing section 14 which can house an excessive part 14 of the belt 12 which remains when the length of the belt 12 between the stoppers is set at a desired length by moving the stoppers 13 and 13 is formed for the length adjusting structure for the hanging rope 11.
