PURIFICATION METHOD FOR HMG-CoA REDUCTASE INHIBITOR, HMG-CoA REDUCTASE INHIBITOR AND USE OF THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method suitable for the purification of an HMG-CoA (human menopausal gonadotropin-Coenzyme A) reductase inhibitor derived from a mycelium biomass, to obtain the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor obtained by the method, and to provide use of the method. SOLUTION: The purification method having a step for obtaining a purity of higher than 99.6% by supplying HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor such as lovastatin to each step of complexified crystallization and use thereof are provided. The steps of the complexified crystallization process comprise a step of crystallizing the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor from a water-miscible or water-soluble organic solvent or a mixture of the organic solvent with water, and a step for crystallizing the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor from an organic ester solvent having a lower miscibility or solubility to water than the above water-miscibility or water-solubility.
