PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-standing thin film which consists mainly of natural clay or synthetic clay whose particles are uniformly arranged, contains a peroxidase uniformly dispersed in spaces among the clay particles, and has excellent flexibility, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for preparing the composite clay film is characterized by (1) dispersing the peroxidase and the clay in water or in a dispersing medium liquid containing water as a main component to prepare the uniform clay dispersion, (2) leaving the dispersion to obtain sediment of the clay particles, and separating the dispersing medium liquid by a solid-liquid separating means to form the composite clay film, and (3) further drying the composite clay film, arbitrarily, under a temperature condition of 110 to 300°C to obtain the self-standing film.
