PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method to determine stripped irregularity M1 caused when forming slot groups by connecting a plurality of slots by through bridges and assembling a slot type shadow mask obtained by connecting the slot groups by continuous bridges, before assembling it in a CRT. SOLUTION: Continuous bridges are set as image data A, through bridges are set as image data B, phosphors 20 are set as image data C, an area (S<SB>A</SB>) where the image data A and the image data C are overlapped is computed, an area (S<SB>B</SB>) where the image data B and the image data C are overlapped is computed, an area ratio (S<SB>B</SB>/S<SB>A</SB>) is computed, and whether striped irregularity is generated or not is determined by the value of the area ratio.
