PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firmware rewriting method for shortening a firmware rewriting time in a display device. SOLUTION: By this firmware rewriting method for a display device, in which the firmware is stored in a rewritable nonvolatile program memory, firmware data in text form are converted into bit-map type image data, and the firmware data converted into the image data are transmitted as image signals to the display device. In the display device, the received firmware data are incorporated as the image signals, and contents of the program memory are rewritten according to the incorporated firmware data.
