PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fork of a fork lift from trailing as damaging a floor surface. SOLUTION: The fork lift includes a control device 27 whereto a fork level sensor 31, a tilting angle sensor 32, a buzzer 33, and an indicator 34 are connected to transmit signals. The fork level sensor 31 senses the level H of the fork 18, while the tilting angle sensor 32 senses the tilting angleθof a mast 13 with respect to the plumb line E. The control device 27 judges whether the fork 18 is grounding or not on the basis of the fork level H and the tilting angleθ. If the judgement is that the fork 18 is grounding, the control device 27 allows the indicator 34 to indicate that the fork is grounding and the buzzer 33 to emit an alarm sound.
