PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tower crane 10 used in such a way as coupled with the structure 100 of a building to be constructed of base insulation structure through a stay 50 as improvement of a conventional one involving such problems that the tower crane 10 is influenced by an earthquake largely through the stay 50, a large thrust force is generated in the stay 50, and that there is a risk to result in a breakage of the stay 50, a mast of the tower crane, and a stay mounting part of the building structure 100. SOLUTION: The stay 50 of this tower crane is equipped with a locking mechanism 70 and a hydraulic device 80 for adjusting the stroke of the stay 50 and locating the crane mast regularly, wherein the locking mechanism holds the set load and is released from locking when the horizontal force due to a horizontal displacement of the building structure exceeds the set value.
