PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device, for an adhesive to be used for a bookbinding device, which can achieve a successful bookbinding operation by always stabilizing the discharge amount of the adhesive such as a paste, and a heating method. SOLUTION: In this heating method, heat is generated in a solenoid 12 by actuating the solenoid 12 in a direction where a nozzle 20 is closed during the actuation as a previous stage of making it possible to actuate an adhesive discharging means 10 for discharging the paste. After that, the paste stored in a paste reservoir chamber 18 is made hot with heat generated in the solenoid 12 through a heat conductor member 14. The adhesive discharging means 10 can be actuated after the paste is hot enough to reach a temperature level where the paste can be successfully discharged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
