PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire molding method which can improve uniformity without depending on corrective processing after vulcanization and a gripping device used in the method. SOLUTION: In the gripping device 10, a gripped peripheral side green tire 1 is decentered in the direction to reduce the RFV of a sample tire, and the peripheral side green tire 1 is assembled with an interior side green tire 2 to mold an entire green tire 3. In this way, the RFV of the entire green tire can be reduced. The RFV characteristics of the sample tire molded with the axial centers of the peripheral side and interior side green tires made coincident in the radial direction are measured in advance as standard data. Since the peripheral side green tire 1 is decentered in the direction of the largest negative component in the RFV waveform of the sample tire, the eccentricity direction and an eccentricity quantity for reducing the RFV of the entire green tire can be calculated exactly.
