PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the working efficiency for image recording by constructing an arrangement constitution in which a forward movement for mark reading and a return movement for image recording become shortest. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus uses a camera unit 32 at a forward path, and an exposure head unit 28 at a return path. Therefore, in the case where a mechanism for moving the camera unit 32 in a width direction of a surface plate 18 occupies a longitudinal direction of the surface plate 18, the opposite side to the moving mechanism is opposed to the exposure head unit 28, and the exposure head unit 28 and the camera unit 32 are disposed to be closest to each other without arranging an exposure stage 16 to reach a necessary unit earliest.
