The disk brake pads (40) are provided in a full contact annular disk brake assembly (10) for a vehicle. The disk brake pads (40) are provided in corresponding seats (70) located near the periphery of the disk brake assembly (10). Spring wire retainers (74) are accessible from outside the disk brake assembly (10) and can be released to remove a disk brake pad (40) from its seat (70). This simplifies and accelerates the replacement of disk brake pads (40) when they reach or about to reach their maximum wear limit. It also alleviates the need to remove or disassemble the disk brake assembly (10) from the axle of the vehicle.
