PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for air conditioner capable of improving the cooling effect of a heating part while inhibiting the contact of the heating part with water. SOLUTION: This outdoor unit 2 of an air conditioner 100 partitioned into a blower chamber S1 including a blower 27 and a machine chamber S2 other than the blower chamber S1 including the heating part 52 comprises a casing 60 and a water shielding plate 91. The casing 60 is arranged within the blower chamber S1, and has an opening 71b for housing the heating part 52 in the inner part. The shielding plate 91 is arranged between the position having the opening 71b and the position containing the heating part 52 in the casing 60, and a structure such that water is less prone to pass than air is adapted therefor.
