PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping cloth having a high wiping effect, also having low resistance on wiping and having a cut-pile structure capable of efficiently performing a work by small force. SOLUTION: This wiping cloth has a cut-pile yarns containing strip-splitting type conjugated fibers on its base texture and forming a region where such cut pile yarns exist and a region where the cut pile yarn does not exist alternately, in which the strip-splitting type conjugated fiber constituting the cut pile yarn is provided by strip-splitting the fiber into 3-20 pieces of single fibers having 0.01-0.5 dtex single fiber fineness after the splitting of the strip-splitting type conjugated fiber and 7,000-20,000 /45 cm<SP>2</SP>cut pile density before the strip-splitting of the conjugated fiber, provided that the cut pile density is the density against the total area of wiping surface.
