A rack-assisted electric power steering device, comprising a ball screw mechanism having a rack shaft and a ball nut and supporting the rack shaft movably in an axial direction by the rotation of the ball nut, a drive pulley rotated integrally with the shaft of a power assisting electric motor, a driven pulley rotated integrally with the ball nut, and a belt stretched between the drive pulley and the driven pulley, whereby the adjustment of a belt tension can be properly and easily performed.
