CONSTITUTION: A stock is fed into a crucible 7 and melted, a seed crystal is then brought into contact with the resultant melt 8, which is then pulled down from the crucible 7, thus growing the objective oxide single crystal 14. The single crystal 14 being formed continuously is irradiated with laser beams R and the output beams S from the single crystal 14 is measured, and based on the measurements, the composition ratio for the stock to be fed from a stock feeder 24 is controlled.
