Power supply circuit comprising a cascade arrangement of a boostconverter (BOC) and a downconverter (DOC) being coupled between input means (IN) for receiving an unstabilised, AC pulse signal noise disturbed DC input voltage on the one hand and output means (OUT) for supplying a stabilised nominal DC supply voltage (Vn) to a load (L) on the other hand. In order to reduce the costs of implementation, while mainatining proper functioning, said boostconverter (BOC) is provided with a negative feed back control loop for boost control, having a loop bandwidth allowing substantially immediate response to a decrease of the boostconverter output signal, said boostconverter (BOC) being active in continuous mode operation causing said boostconverter output signal to have a DC level at least equal to said nominal DC supply voltage superposed with AC ripple varying within a substantial part of the input voltage range of the downconverter, said AC ripple being suppressed in said downconverter (DOC).
|
