<p>1,074,656. Lens hoods. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 18, 1964 [July 19, 1963], No.25213/64. Heading G2A. A lens hood has a pair of flanges which can engage in an annular peripheral groove on a camera lens mount, and is made of resilient material such that it can be momentarily distorted by flexing to engage the flanges in the said groove. The hood shown is made of a relatively flexible plastics material. It has two inwardly projecting flanges 20, and two knurled regions 22, displaced at 90‹ from the flanges, for gripping purposes. The hood is intended for use with a camera having an annular groove round the periphery of the lens mount. By pressing on the two knurled regions, the hood is deformed sufficiently to allow it to be slipped on to the lens mount and the flanges to engage in the said groove. Serrations or knurling 26 is provided on the hood, to mate with corresponding serrations or knurling on the outer surface of the lens mount, so that the lens can be rotated for focusing purposes by means of the hood.</p> |
