FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves creating C-shaped large intestine reservoir. Bed is prepared to descend smooth muscle cuff and the large intestine reservoir. Internal sphincter and deep portion of the external sphincter are removed and levator is transected. After having accomplished descending stage, levator stump is fixed at the level of the upper smooth muscle cuff edge. Colo-anal anastomosis is created. ^ EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in creating conscious fecal continence.
