The device has a control box (1) comprising a pinion (7) with a tooth (11) cut at its upper part along a surface (15) that is perpendicular to a median radius of the tooth. The tooth is cut such that the pinion revolves slightly even after driving a rack (9) to its end position. The tooth slides on a tooth (13) of the rack until an indexed stop position of rotation of the pinion to lock against the tooth (13). An independent claim is also included for a lock equipped with a security device.
