The panel, designed to cover an operating theatre light, is made from a base body (52) of a transparent, especially plastic, material, one or more optical zones (44, 46, 48), and a connecting zone (50). The base body can be of a colored material depending on the temperature of the light. During manufacture the optical zones are masked with a layer of a self-adhesive material before a translucent varnish of a different color to the base is applied to the connecting zone.
