[Also in Division C3] Substrates may be coated with compositions comprising a vinyl fluoride homo or copolymer, a latent solvent therefor, a pigment and as stabiliser 0.05 to 7.5 parts by weight per 100 parts of polymer of a stabiliser comprising an aliphatic polyol having 2 to 8 alcoholic hydroxyl groups for each aliphatic radical containing 2 to 15 carbon atoms and a zinc dithiophosphinate of formula Zn(S.SPR 2 ) 2 where R is a C 2-18 hydrocarbon radical. In examples chromated aluminium panels are coated with compositions comprising polyvinyl fluoride, dimethyl phthalate and titanium dioxide together with (A) pentaerythritol, (B) dipentaerythritol, (C) tripentaerythritol, (D) dilauryl 3,3'-thiodipropionate, (E) zinc bis/dicyclohexyl dithiophosphinate, (F) D and E, (G) C and D, (H) C and E, (I) B and E, and (J) C, D and E. Other substrates specified are leather, cloth, resins, wood, stones, concrete, cement, steel, iron, magnesium and nickel.</p> |
