PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping system discriminating method and its system capable of easily, accurately and surely discriminate piping systems. SOLUTION: This piping system discriminating method includes a transmission step for transmitting an examination acoustic wave having a plurality of frequency components toward pipes of branched pipes from an acoustic wave transmitting means 11 mounted on a first position on the plurality of branched pipes, a reception step for receiving the examination acoustic wave reaching the pipes of the branched pipes by an acoustic wave receiving means 12 mounted on a second position on the plurality of branched pipes, and an operation step performing the frequency analyzing processing to discriminate the presence or absence of the influence by a frequency component variation part 4 on the received examination acoustic wave, and an output step for outputting the output information relating to a result of the processing in the operation step.
