<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetoresistance effect element that has materialized a high magnetoresistance change amount, and to provide a magnetic head using it, and a magnetic reproducer. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetoresistance effect element has a magnetized fixing layer having a magnetized film whose magnetization direction is substantially set to one direction, a magnetized free layer having the magnetized film whose magnetization direction changes in response to the external magnetic field, a non-magnetic metal intermediate layer formed between the magnetized fixing layer and the magnetized free layer, a resistance increasing layer provided at least in any one of the magnetized fixing layer, the magnetized free layer, and the non-magnetic metal intermediate layer, and including an insulating section, a spin filter layer with a thickness of 2nm or more that is provided adjacent to the magnetized free layer on a side opposite to the non-magnetic metal intermediate layer, and a pair of electrodes electrically connected for applying a sense current in a direction approximately perpendicular to the film surfaces of the magnetized fixing layer, the magnetized free layer, the non-magnetic metal intermediate layer, the resistance increasing layer and the spin filter layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
