PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which is available for printing on a rectangular CD such as a card-size CD, can position two types of the CDs thereto by using a common tray easily and with high accuracy, and can correctly carry out printing on each rectangular CD without printing misregistration. SOLUTION: CDs are installed on the tray 83 set in a CD transfer section 8 installed on a recording device. In order to position the rectangular CD 79a or 79b to the tray 83 and install the former in the latter via an adapter 89, two holes having mutually different shapes other than a circle are formed in the adapter in directions orthogonal to each other, or alternatively the adapter is positioned and set to the tray in two positions orthogonal to each other, and in this manner the rectangular CD installed in the hole of the adapter can be positioned in the horizontal direction (or vertical direction).
