PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily delete image information on unnecessary partial pages and to surely recognize that the image information on the partial pages belong to a deleted multi-page file after deletion in an image processing apparatus that stores image information composed of a plurality of pages in a storage means as a multi-page file. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises a file memory 17 for storing image information over a plurality of pages and page information corresponding to the image information of the pages as a multi-page file, an image information deleting means 17 for deleting image information on arbitrary pages of the multi-page file, and a page information updating means 29 for updating page information corresponding to the image information of deleted pages when the image information on the partial pages of the multi-page file is deleted by the image information deleting means 27, so that the page information includes page numbers of the image information deleted by the image information deleting means 27.
