PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of constantly maintaining a fixing roller in a cleaned state by cleaning the fixing roller by rotating the fixing roller for predetermined time immediately before or immediately after image formation. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a fixing heater 105, the fixing roller 101, a thermister 106 which detects surface temperature of the fixing roller 101, a temperature fuse 116 which shields power of the fixing heater 105, a fixing separation pawl 102, a pressure roller 114, a pressure separation pawl 115, a cleaning roller 113 which collects toner carried by the pressure roller 114, a pressure spring 112 which applies pressure to the pressure separation pawl 115, a paper ejection roller 108 which conveys transfer paper to a paper ejection port, a paper ejection koro 107 which rotates driven by the paper ejection roller 108 and a paper ejection sensor 109 which detects that the transfer paper arrives at the paper ejection port.
