PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device in which the cell thickness between opposing substrates is made uniform, and occurrence of fluctuation in a color tone in the vicinity of a seal material is prevented in press-fixing, and also to provide its manufacturing method, a stacked body for the electrooptical device, and an electronic equipment. SOLUTION: In the electrooptical device, a holding section 14 which holds the horizontal condition of a mounting region 13 between a first substrate 11 and a second substrate 12 is provided at a portion of the mounting region 13 other than a display region. Thus, the cell thickness of the opposing substrates is made uniform, occurrence of color tone fluctuation in the vicinity of the seal material is prevented in press-fixing, and display fluctuation is dissolved.
