PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide no-short-break switching method/device which reduce probability that all data constituting VCAT are treated as invalid and are contributed to effective use of a network resource in a downstream device in a communication system where data can be transmitted by VCAT where a plurality of frames are treated as one data set. SOLUTION: The no-short-break switching method which is performed on a reception-side device of a communication system transmitting a plurality of frames as one data set and which switch a communication path of the frames between a present system and a standby system is disposed. It is detected whether bit errors occur in the frames received through the present system and the standby system. When the bit error exists in the frame received through the present system and the bit error does not exist in the frame received through the standby system, the communication path of the frame is switched from the present system to the standby system in a data set unit.
