The invention relates to a method and assembly for cleaning a disc sector in a disc filter. After the disc sector (2) has left the discharge chute during the rotation of the disc and become again immersed into the slurry, the sector is internally subjected via a suction pipe (3) to a positive pressure not lower than the atmospheric pressure while the sector is simultaneously subjected to ultrasonic vibration (29) directed perpendicular to the surface of the sector.
