<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte for lithium secondary battery capable of inhibiting generation of gas within the battery, which induces a change in thickness of the battery, and a lithium secondary battery excellent in discharge characteristic and low-temperature characteristic of battery in which a swelling phenomenon caused by generation of gas hardly occurs. <P>SOLUTION: This electrolyte for lithium secondary battery comprises a lithium salt, a high boiling point organic solvent, and a carbonate additive agent having a substituent selected from the group consisting of halogen, cyano group (CN) and nitro group (NO<SB>2</SB>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
