<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce any influence on the input operability or assembly precision of a pointing device, and to prevent the deterioration of a dust/water-proofing function, and to integrate the pointing device into terminal equipment. <P>SOLUTION: This pointing device 22 mounted on terminal equipment 10 is provided with a first detecting element 26 arranged on a circuit board 14, a second detecting element 28 arranged adjacently to the first detecting element 26 in a non-contact status, an operating member 30 for fixedly carrying the second detecting element 28 and a supporting member 32 by which the operating member 30 is supported so as to be displaced with respect to the circuit board 14. A magnet 28 and the operating member 30 and the supporting member 32 are integrated with each other so that an operating part assembly 34 can be configured. A key panel 18 is provided with a sheet-shaped extended part 50 connected to a plurality of depressing elements, and extended to the setting place of the pointing device 22. The extended part 50 is interposed between the first detecting element 26 of the pointing device 22 and the operating part assembly 34 so that the circuit board 14 can be covered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
