PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery module and a battery pack capable of preventing the deterioration of performance by preventing the unbalanced distribution of thermal deterioration in a specific unit battery, by appropriately cooling a plurality of unit cells housed in a battery housing case.

SOLUTION: The battery module 60 comprises a battery aggregate 12 which is constituted by connecting in series a plurality of laminate sheath batteries 11 as a unit cell, and a battery housing case 61 of an air-cooled type which houses the battery aggregate 12 inside and of which the outside is cooled by cooling air flowing down. The plurality of laminate sheath batteries 11 are arranged in a direction X crossing at right angles the flowing down direction Y of the cooling air.
