PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll kneading method capable of always obtaining a kneaded material having a desired viscosity range, and a roll kneading apparatus. SOLUTION: In the roll kneading method for returning the kneaded material M kneaded by kneading rolls 1 and 2 to the kneading rolls 1 and 2 through a plurality of re-kneading conveyors 3, 4 and 5 to repeatedly knead the same, a dancer roll 6 for pressing the kneaded material M fed between the front and rear re-kneading conveyors 4 and 5 to one side is provided between the front and rear re-kneading conveyors 4 and 5, and the feed speed of the rear re-kneading conveyor 5 is controlled so as to hold the dancer roll 6 to a predetermined pressing position.
