PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for easily and surely setting a maker code in a remote controller. SOLUTION: A device body 1 capable of performing picture display by a television output and a remote controller 2 provided with a specific button capable of setting a plurality of types of code outputs and for remotely operating the device body 1 are provided. When one type of a plurality of types of outputs is selected, the remote controller 2 temporarily sets the specific button by an output of the selected type of a code, and transmits the type of the output of the temporarily selected code to the device body 1 to make the type to be displayed on a screen, and when an input for performing real setting is performed, the remote controller 2 transmits the type of an output of a code that is currently set in the specific button to the device body 1 to display the type on the screen again.
