PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component which can significantly restrain mutual melting of an external electrode in the calcination of the external electrode. SOLUTION: The ceramic capacitor 10 has a capacitor element assembly 16 wherein a dielectric layer 12 and an electrode layer 14 are laminated alternately and an external electrode 18 which is formed in edge faces 16a, 16b of the capacitor element assembly 16, wherein the electrode layer 14 is exposed, and whose arithmetic mean roughness of the surface 18a is≥0.76μm. Consequently, the melting of the external electrode 18 of a proximate ceramic capacitor 10 can be restrained significantly in calcination. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
