PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium of a DWDD system which achieves an intra-reproduction layer magnetic wall transfer suitable for attaining the practical utilization of a high recording-density medium and its manufacturing method and the reproducing method of the magneto-optical recording medium. SOLUTION: In a magneto-optical recording medium X1 which is equipped with a recording layer 11 for bearing a recording function, a reproduction layer 13 for bearing a reproduction function accompanied by magnetic domain wall transfer, and an intermediate layer 12 for changing the exchange coupling state of the recording layer 11 and the reproduction layer 13 by existing between the recording layer 11 and the reproduction layer 13, the magnetic structure of the reproduction layer 13 is constituted so that perpendicular magnetic anisotropy increases according as it gets away from the intermediate layer 12.
