PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a liquid crystal display of a field sequential driving system which makes it possible to obtain good contrast by ameliorating a flicker by driving at an optimized driving frequency. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device of the field sequential driving system divides one frame to at least three subframes and displays R, G and B images by each subframe, wherein the one frame is driven at the driving frequency satisfying at least one of the conditions under which the flicker is≤45% and the conditions under which a contrast ratio is≥100. The frequency for driving the one frame is 80 to 110 Hz; the driving frequency satisfying the conditions under which the flicker is≤45% is required to be≥80 Hz and the driving frequency satisfying the conditions under which the contrast ratio is≥100 is required to be≤110 Hz.
