<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable phone with a television receiving function that is automatically shifted to a speech mode when a call arrives during watching a TV program. <P>SOLUTION: The foldable portable phone is provided with: a display section 13; a reception section 200 for receiving a TV broadcast program; and a control section 22 for carrying out control with respect to television reception processing and speech processing. When the control section 22 detects the arrival of the call during reception of the television broadcast program and that the mobile phone is opened on the basis of a main body open switch, the control section 22 interrupts television screen display by the television reception section to shift the portable phone to the speech mode.
