<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly avoid a situation wherein output setting is changed into output setting which a document creator does not intend and wherein unproductive print output is executed when an optimum device is absent in an output destination, and to obtain an optimum result reflecting a setting change rule of the document creator. <P>SOLUTION: When executing a print process, a product application 104 compares format setting and ability of a printer 107 to decide whether the format setting of an electronic document can be realized or not, and applies one setting change rule designated in print setting information to change the format setting of the document when deciding that the format setting of the document cannot be realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
