<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which shows excellent water resistance; successful printability; little deposition of tailings during printing; improved stability of a coating liquid; and ameliorated whiteness. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording medium has a thermal recording layer which contains a colorless or pale-color basic leuco dye and a developer as main components formed on a support, This thermal recording layer contains an acrylic polymer which is obtained by copolymerizing an acrylic monomer and a vinyl silane using at least one kind of polymerizable emulsifier selected from among an alkali salt of an alkyl allylsulfosuccinate; a sodium(gylcerine n-alkenyl succinoyl glycerine) borate; an alkali salt of a monoalkyl ester sulfopropyl maleate; and a polyoxyethylene alkyl ester acrylate or methacrylate; and a colloidal silica. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
